Polizeisportverein Neuss e.V.

Info

The focus main of the football department of PSV/ISR Neuss is to a large extent the youth.
15 licensed coaches in nine teams, are in charge of around 200 children and adolescents.

After brief inactivity, the number of football-loving youth at PSV Neuss is beginning to rise again. In addition, there are about 50 active players in the two senior teams of the PSV (1st ladies and 1st men).Due to the cooperation between ISR and PSV the number of players and teams will undoubtedly increase over the coming years.

We are working on making the association more available not only for students of ISR but also for young people from Neuss. In addition to the construction of an artificial turf pitch and a small playground for the little ones, we have taken measures to include other licensed trainers in order to be able to look after the children and adolescents in a more targeted and individual way.

General Orientation
The youth football at PSV Neuss is based on two pillars: one pillar is the football training of each individual player, the other pillar includes non- sport values and character building.

Football education:

The joy of playing and having fun in training should also be transferred to the competition. The players are given an offensive understanding of the game and of "wanting to win". Great value is placed on positive mutual coaching.

Continuous and long-term training priorities promote the development of team identity and an individual style of play.

Exercises and games for ball possession as well as many tactical techniques characterize these long-term training focuses. Condition (stamina, strength, speed and agility), coordination (coordination, coordination with the ball, orientation skills) and technique (passing game, ball and take, shooting and dribbling) will be taught on a professional level.

Off-sport values:

Our professional trainers are role models of diligence and discipline. It is with their help that basic values such as respect, honesty and Fair Play can be conveyed authentically. The goal is to educate young players so that they gain responsibility and discipline both on the pitch and in real life. The coaches are asked to communicate with the players in an explanatory and friendly style of leadership. However, the boundaries between coaches and players are clear.

Challenges and success stories with high but realistic goals promote self-confidence. The players should improve in each training session so that they learn for a lifetime.
Despite achievements on the pitch, cohesion and team spirit shall be promoted. Each team has to develop a common "fighting spirit" and win at every stage of the game. It is particularly important to accept setbacks, to process them and to improve next time.
