We all have an innate need to feel safe wherever we are. It is natural to be fearful when confronted by certain situations in life. Fortunately, everyone can learn to deal or rather cope with their fear, not to be dominated by it. Avoiding dangerous situations, having a confident demeanor and the correct use of one’s own the voice can help diffuse or sometimes escape dangerous situations. Successful physical assertion in critical situations can be learned and practiced.
Since it is not always possible to avoid dangerous situations, the self- defense training you will get will help you assert yourself in such situations more confidently. There are both verbal and non-verbal ways to deal with any situation.
Participation is not restricted to a certain age or experience level. Anyone can join.
General Orientation
The aim of this course is to make sure that you feel confident and safe; you should be able to successfully defend yourself to a certain extent against an attacker. This course will not, however, teach you the skills that a martial artist has acquired over many years of training. In addition to self-assertion and self-defense techniques, the fun of physical exercise and dealing with each other should not be neglected.
Training Times
The course is designed for a duration of 10 weeks. During these 10 weeks the participants will train together in the Josef Beuys School. Training is on Wednesdays from 8:00pm to 9:30pm, dates on request,
